About Us
Salt & Purpose is about to empowering ministries, churches, and faith-driven organizations with beautiful, strategic websites that glorify God and support meaningful Kingdom work.
With more than 20 years of experience in web development, digital strategy, and online ministry tools, we build websites that are not only visually engaging but purposeful and rooted in faith-centered values.
We understand that a church website is about more than a digital presence; it’s a front door to Christ. It welcomes newcomers, serves your congregation, and reflects the heart and distinct messaging of your ministry. Our mission is to help you steward that space with your uniqueness.
Whether you require a simple church site or a fully custom platform with giving integration, online sermon libraries, and community features, we partner closely with each ministry to ensure the final result is exactly what you had in mind.
At Salt & Purpose, we believe digital tools, when used wisely, can extend God’s reach, build community, and bring hope to more people, one click at a time.
“You are the salt of the earth…” – Matthew 5:13
About the Owner
Rebecca Skane, Owner
Hi, I’m Rebecca — a believer, web developer, and creative with a heart for helping ministries shine online.
For over two decades, I’ve built websites and digital systems for organizations ranging from small businesses to national brands such as GoDaddy, Keller Williams, U.S. state governments, and many more. My early career began in IT, supported by academic study in molecular biology — but God redirected my professional path and revealed a calling to pair technical excellence with spiritual purpose, but not until I came to find God after an extremely challenging trial. It was my healing through my church’s “small groups” that led me to realize my purpose.
I’ve spent years refining my craft across various platforms and webhosts, code integrations, APIs, custom scripts, and design elements. Eventually, serving Christian missions, pastors, and church leaders became the work that felt most aligned with my gifts — and Salt & Purpose was born.
Today, I serve ministries that want a partner who understands both technology and faith. I believe in integrity, clarity, and building with the future in mind — and I bring both expertise and compassion to every project.
When I’m not building websites, you’ll find me at church, hiking outdoors or on a mountain terrain run, enjoying quiet mornings with my Bible and coffee, or writing and exploring creative pursuits rooted in faith. I’m also the emotional trauma and abuse counselor at my church.
Formerly (and on the side), I was the Editor-in-Chief of The Portsmouth Review, book review columnist for my local paper, and founder of The Portsmouth Book Club (retired group) which had over 2,500 members.
I’d love to learn about your church and how we can serve your mission online.
